WASHED ASHORE PROJECT
The Washed Ashore Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about ocean pollution through art. They collect debris and waste that has washed up on beaches along the Oregon coast, particularly plastics and other materials harmful to marine life. This waste is then transformed into large-scale sculptures and artwork, often representing marine animals such as fish, turtles, and whales. These sculptures are displayed at various locations to engage the public and inspire conversations about the importance of ocean conservation and the impact of plastic pollution on the environment. Additionally, the project offers educational programs and workshops to encourage community involvement and environmental stewardship.
